Biopharmaceutical iLab Intern

Position Summary – The Biopharmaceutical iLab internship will give students a glimpse into the budding field of cell and gene therapy. Through their assistance in projects related to the launch of the Cell and Gene Manufacturing Center, interns will be introduced to the biopharmaceutical ecosystem and its many stakeholders.

Person Reports To – Project Coordinator for the Biopharma iLab

Essential Functions –

  • Assisting in the preparation and organization of materials for Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell (CAR-T) therapy workforce development classes
  • Helping members of the iLab develop presentations, sell sheets, and business strategies related to the launch of the Cell and Gene Therapy Manufacturing Center
  • Researching companies which are in the process of developing cell therapies

Additional Functions –

  • Analyzing quantitative and qualitative data related to workforce development class evaluations
  • Establishing an organizational system for workforce development instructor documents
  • Helping plan and manage the timelines for projects related to the Cell and Gene Therapy Center
  • Creating graphics for industry and government oriented presentations
  • Scheduling internal meetings


Prerequisite Qualifications –

  1. Education/Degree Required

Pursuing an undergraduate degree related to life sciences or biotechnology; preference given to students from NJIT

  1. Essential Characteristics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong writing skills

  • Ability to work in a team
  • Graphic design skills are a plus
  • Knowledge in Excel is a plus
