Position Summary –

The Senior Financial Analyst should provide accurate and data based information on the company’s profitability, solvency, stability and liquidity. The position will research and analyze financial information to help the company make well informed decisions, write reports and monitor financial movements. The position will also create and / or improve processes and workflows related to the Finance department.

Government Affairs and Finance Director

Essential Functions –

  • Act as the liaison for the healthcare iLab and the corporate finance department and the NJIT finance department
  • Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts etc) taking into account the company’s goals and financial standing
  • Prepare leadership summary of the financial data with key takeaways to facilitate the decision making process
  • Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance
  • Assemble and summarize data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks
  • Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis and present it to the leadership
  • Conduct business studies on past, future and comparative performance and develop forecast models
  • Identify trends, advise leadership and recommend actions to a senior financial analyst based on sound analysis
  • Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts
  • Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data
  • Keep the team leads informed of their budget, variance and their progress to plan
  • Act as the liaison between the team leads and the leadership in the budgeting process
  • Consult with management to guide and influence long term and strategic decision making within the broadest scope
  • Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function
  • Ensure accuracy of monthly and quarterly financial reporting
  • Keep the company up to date on the current trends and processes related to finance


Additional Functions –

  • Assist Accounts Payable team in researching payment issues and reconciling vendor statements
  • Support the Senior Financial Analyst and Finance Manager for all Shared Services responsibilities and ad-hoc projects
  • Track, reconcile, and report headcount
  • Participate in month-end close including preparing/posting journal entries
  • Partner with Human Resources and Finance Operations in all matters related to Compensation & Benefits
  • Gain and update job knowledge to remain informed about novelty in the field


Prerequisite Qualifications –

  1. Education/Degree Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in business/accounting/finance or related field


  1. Years of Experience Required

Minimum 4 years accounting or finance experience


  1. Knowledge/Skills Required -
  • Proficiency and demonstrated knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel (comfortable using v-lookups and pivot tables)
  • Proficient and demonstrated skills, in use of SAP/Business Warehouse/BPC or similar accounting software
  • Ability to manage and analyze large and complex data sets


Preferred Qualifications –

  • SAP experience a plus
  • Immaculate attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills
  • Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving: Demonstrates an evidence-based ability to use data analysis in the approach to find a resolution.
