Position Summary –

The Financial Analyst should provide accurate and data based information on the company’s profitability, solvency, stability and liquidity. The position will research and analyze financial information to help the company make well informed decisions, write reports and monitor financial movements.


Person Reports To –

Government Affairs and Finance Director, Healthcare iLab


Essential Functions –

·        Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts etc) taking into account the company’s goals and financial standing

·        Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance

·        Assemble and summarize data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks

·        Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis

·        Conduct business studies on past, future and comparative performance and develop forecast models

·        Identify trends, advise leadership and recommend actions to a senior financial analyst based on sound analysis

·        Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts

·        Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data

·        Consult with management to guide and influence long term and strategic decision making within the broadest scope

·        Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function

·        Ensure accuracy of monthly and quarterly financial reporting




Additional Functions –

·        Assist Accounts Payable team in researching payment issues and reconciling vendor statements

·        Support the Senior Financial Analyst and Finance Manager for all Shared Services responsibilities and ad-hoc projects

·        Track, reconcile, and report headcount

·        Participate in month-end close including preparing/posting journal entries

·        Partner with Human Resources and Finance Operations in all matters related to Compensation & Benefits

·        Gain and update job knowledge to remain informed about novelty in the field


Prerequisite Qualifications –

1.     Education/Degree Required

·        Bachelor’s degree in business/accounting/finance or related field


2.     Years of Experience Required

Minimum 2 years accounting or finance experience


3.     Knowledge/Skills Required -

·        Proficiency and demonstrated knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel (comfortable using v-lookups and pivot tables)

·        Proficient and demonstrated skills, in use of SAP/Business Warehouse/BPC or similar accounting software


Preferred Qualifications –

·        SAP experience a plus

·        Willingness to learn

·        Flexibility to move on short notice from task to task as priorities change

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills

·        Excellent customer service skills

·        Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment

·        Ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines

·        Ability to perform repetitious and tedious tasks

·        Must be willing to work late evenings, and occasional holidays or weekends per business need
