Client Development and Engagement Manager

Position Summary – The Client Development and Engagement Manager is responsible for business development efforts and end-to-end client project completion. The manager will actively work to coordinate the administration of contracts and grants with the operations team.


Person Reports To – Directly to the Associate VP, Economic, Cluster, & Client Development


Supervises – Interns when assigned


Essential Functions –

50% Business Development

  • Actively engage in business development by responding to inquiries, networking, and targeted efforts
  • Integrate digital marketing skills into relationship development and communication
  • Apply enterprise-wide knowledge of our capabilities and services to varying customer needs
  • Travel to client locations, conferences, etc. as needed
  • Facilitate awareness and use of SalesForce CRM across the organization5


50% Client Engagement

  • Assist with preliminary engagement to the completion of technical solution with client and seek to maintain future relationship
  • Elicit feedback from clients and share with delivery team
  • Create an archive of artifacts from projects to be used in reporting for deliverables
  • Responsible for the creation and completion of team deliverables on time and on budget
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining post implementation reviews


Additional Functions –

  • Creation of reports related to grant or final deliverable reporting
  • Periodic supervision of interns as assigned
  • Serve as a direct conduit between project teams and internal operations team

Prerequisite Qualifications –

  1. Education/Degree Required

Bachelor’s degree in business, management, public administration or related field


 Years of Experience Required

Minimum of two years sales and/ or project management experience


 Knowledge/Skills Required

Fluency in MS Office Suite and customer relationship management (CRM) tools, such as SalesForce.
