Job Description

Position: STEM Intern

US Army ARDEC and its strategic partners, NJIT & NJII, Workforce Development Internship Program aims to engage Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) students in purposeful activities to support the US Army and its strategic partners.  The positions allow the opportunities to examine interest and capabilities to support ARDEC missions, including Engineering, advanced manufacturing, CAD,  STEM,  software support, and sub-systems integration.  Support for Weapon Systems, Homeland Defense, and other military systems will be required.  This position is a part-time position, working 20 hours per week at an hourly rate of $16.00

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support ARDEC / NJIT STEM activities and programs with-in New Jersey
  • Support Innovation Projects
  • Test and Characterize materials and devices
  • Develop hardware/software interfaces and sub-systems as required
  • Responsible for specific projects involved with the Additive Materials Technology Branch
  • Responsible for specific projects involved with the ADAPT
  • Responsible for specific projects associated with Picatinny STEM
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • US Citizenship
  • Background Check
  • HS Diploma
  • Enrollment in College Courses (STEM curriculum field(s) required
  • Majoring in science, math, technology, engineering, or education
  • GPA: 2.8
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Ability to work well with teams to solve complex problems
  • Able to work independently and proactively on given projects
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Previous experience working with Depart of Defense and/or US Government preferred
