Healthcare Policy Analyst

Position Summary –

We are seeking a highly motivated and tech-savvy Healthcare policy analyst with an interest and experience in health care policy and strong verbal and written communication skills to join our team. This position reports directly to the Director of Government Affairs. The successful candidate will support the NJII initiatives related to health care delivery, payment reform, and other quality improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will take overall responsibility for supporting the projects and associated projects related to health care delivery and payment reform and quality improvement.  They will assist in identifying opportunities for funding through federal and state regulations. They will also interpret regulations, policy, and any new healthcare law that may be passed.

Essential Functions –

  • Plan, implement and track all Healthcare policy deliverables set forth in current grant and work plan
  • Prepare program materials including communication materials, surveys, agendas, reports, research briefs
  • Prepare presentations and other educational materials on various policy work and research, e.g. measure alignment, provider and community engagement, national best practices, etc.
  • Assist the Director in shaping the policy outreach and identifying opportunities from both State and federal agencies
  • Write and research grant opportunities
  • Creating new content for the web page


Additional Functions –

  • Present at meetings; leading and actively participating in meetings
  • Interface with senior level partners and stakeholders
  • All other duties as assigned


Prerequisite Qualifications –

  1. Education/Degree Required

Bachelor’s degree in public administration, political science, nursing, healthcare, or other related field required. Relevant clinical, healthcare, or political experience substitutes for the above education requirement.


  1. Years of Experience Required

1+ years of experience in a related field required.


  1. Knowledge/Skills Required
  • Experience researching and analyzing complex policy issues and health care related topics
  • Project management experience and skills
  • Experience managing and supporting grant-funded projects; meeting deadlines and deliverable benchmarks


Preferred Qualifications –

  • Polished presentation skills in small and larger group settings
  • Stellar verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Skilled in Microsoft suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • The ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
