Position Summary – 

We have an opening for a Research Associate in Photovoltaic R&D. Your role will be responsible for all aspects of photovoltaic characterization, analysis and development of new and advanced device models. You will work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary project, and develop own initiative and work with analytical, organizational and communication skills.


Person Reports To – Professor of Phyics, NJIT; Director, CNBM New Energy Materials Research Center, NJIT


Essential Functions – 

  • Development of R&D activities supporting the development of advanced and more efficient photovoltaic materials and devices;
  • Engage in R&D of the photovoltaic characterization and model design;
  • Assisting Director of CNBM Center to organize and manage the Center's R&D activity;
  • Managing industrial and public research projects, project reporting for industrial and public projects;
  • Technological watch over new green energy developments;
  • Further Development of the PV expertise at the center: training of other members, proposal of investigation projects
  • Guidance and Supervision of research staff and students

Additional Functions – 

  • Working with Director to seek for R&D funding
  • Reporting R&D progress in conferences and meetings


Prerequisite Qualifications – 

  1. Education/Degree Required: Candidate should have a PhD degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering


  1. Years of Experience Required: Minimum of 5 years of experience in photovoltaic R&D


  1. Knowledge/Skills Required: knowledge of device physics, materials properties, model design and simulation; skills in material characterization and property assessment (PL, EL, SEM, TEM, XRD, J-V).


Preferred Qualifications Candidates with experience in device fabrication will also be preferred.
